Unity - ❤️🖤💚 Red, Black, and Green are the colors of the Pan-African flag designed by Marcus Garvey & members of his UNIA organization created in response to the enormously popular 1900 coon song "Every Race Has a Flag but the Coon".
Red symbolizes noble blood that unites all people of African ancestry & sheds for liberation. Black symbolizes the melanated skin color of African people. Green symbolizes growth & the natural fertility of African soil.
The flag was formally adopted in 1920, with African nations immediately following by integrating the colors in their national flags as a symbol of their sovereignty. The flag holistically represents the collective identity of Africans & descendants throughout the diaspora, the worldwide liberation of Black people, & serves as an emblem of Unity and Black Pride.
